Start to use Mail Express Enterprise Plus
If this is the first time for you to start Mail Express Enterprise Plus, you must ensure if your system has met the requirement as below:
Ensure you have installed and running Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL in your system? (If you need other database system support, please contact us).
If you have installed Microsoft MDAC 2.8 or later version for Microsoft SQL Server, or OLE DB Provider for MySQL in your system, click following links to download them:
Now you can download and install Mail Express Enterprise Plus in your system. After installation, you must finish some settings and build the database first before run MEEntPlus.
Open the Control Monitor for Mail Express Enterprise Plus, you will see a wizard as below:
Click the Next to go to the next step as below:
Fill the server name into the Server Name field and click the Next button as below:
Fill the mailmaster password into the two field, please remember this password which will be used to connect to the message server of Mail Express Enterprise Plus. Then click the Next button as below:
The Need Authentication check box must be turned on, Mail Express Enterprise Plus need authentication. You can also igore this step and add accounts in the Control Monitor later. Click Next button to go to the next step as below:
This is the require step for you at the first time you use Mail Express Enterprise Plus, you must add your allow IP list or "*.*.*.*" into the IP list, or turn on the Allow all IPs check box, otherwise no one can send email to your Mail Express Enterprise Plus server.

In this step, you must initialize database that the MEEntPlus needed, otherwise you can not start the services of Mail Express Enterprise Plus. Just click the Initialize Database button and change to the Database tab, you will see the database setting window. Choose which DBMS you want to use, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or MySQL.
For the MySQL server, MEEntPlus uses the username "root" and blank password to connect to the server, so there are no authentication informations in the MySQL page. Fill in the server informations, then click the Test Connection button, if all informations are valid, and the DBMS server is running, and the connect driver has been installed in your system, you will see the below message dialog:
Click the OK button. For the Microsoft SQL Server, you must choose a folder to place the data of the database MEEntDB in SQL Server, in this example, the path is "d:\meentdata\". After this, you can click the Initialize Database button to create the MEEntDB database and all tables. After the initialize finished, you must click the Save or Cancel button to close database setting window and return to the wizard.
Click the Next button to go to the next step as below:
Now the wizard finished, click the Finish button to close the wizard, you will see the main window of Control Monitor as below:
Now all the three servers are stopped, you can click the three start buttons to start them. If the Receive Server can not start, please check if the port 25 (for the common auth SMTP server) or 30025 (for the FROM address auth server) is used by other application (see here). If the Message Server can not start, please check if the port 8090 is used by other application. After the three services started, you can click the Connect button to connect to the message server, you will see the login dialog as below:
Fill in the password you set at the second step of the wizard, then click OK to connect the message server you will see the server informations as below:
If you have created the accounts in the wizard, you can send email from your favorite mail client to MEEntPlus server now. More informations about Control Monitor, please see the help file. If you still have any question in installing or starting the server, please contact us.
